Hi! I'm D.
I’ve been in the tattoo game since the early aughts, but my love for art started well before that. Born in San Diego and raised in the Bay Area (what's good Pittsburg!), little me first found inspiration in comic and fantasy art. Artists like Frank Frazeta, Jim Lee, Frank Miller, and Boris Vallejo just blew me away and I knew I had found my passion. As I grew and explored more styles like graffiti and even had a sculpting phase, I thought I’d turn my love of art into a career and set my sights on becoming a tattoo artist.
In 2009, I made my way back to San Diego to level up my craft—Shoutout to the Sinister Ink, Off The Wall, and Superfly crews for getting me started!—and in 2015 I landed a job at my dream shop, Avalon Tattoo II. With tattoo legend Fip Buchanan at the helm, it's been such an honor to call Avalon my home where I’ve learned so much not just about tattooing, but about the dedication and discipline it takes to grow as an artist. I couldn’t have gotten where I’m at today without the support and collaboration of so many other incredible artists, and my family, friends, and inspiration from the tattoo industry at large.
These days I specialize in black and grey realism tattoos, blending in splashes of color when the right piece calls for it. I’m a big fan of diving into the details and really collaborating with every client. Each piece is unique and highly personal and I don’t take that lightly. I work mostly by appointment so I can give each tattoo the focus it deserves and make sure my clients feel comfortable every step of the way. I’m so grateful for every single client putting their trust in me and keepin me busy!
Outside of tattooing, I make time to paint and draw whenever I can. It’s how I stay balanced and inspired, and I love collaborating with other artists, just bouncing ideas around, and working together to try new things. Life has had its ups and downs but when I can dip into art and build community around creativity, it keeps me going. Both art and tattooing have opened up so many new doors and relationships—I’m just honored to share my craft with you all and am always excited to see what we can create together next.
So, thank you for stopping by and getting to know me! If you’re ready for your next tattoo, have questions, or just wanna chat art, I’d love to connect with you—Just shoot me a message.

Chunks
Snack Manager
Hello, I’m Chunks. Official Snack Manager around here. Yeah, it’s a ruff job, but someone’s gotta inspect every meal, snack, and crumb that hits the floor. Quality control is serious business and our food must always meet the highest standards (mine). I also keep D on his toes (or wait, sometimes it's me on his toes...) making sure he never fur-gets to take a break for belly rubs or a good walk. Whether D’s creating art or just trying to eat in peace, I’m right there supervising. Let’s be honest… I’m the real top dog here.
